Maine Lobstermen qualify for training and cash benefits

Maine lobstermen are eligible for a training and financial assistance program through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, called the Trade Adjustment Assistance for Farmers (TAA) program. 

Earlier this year, the Maine Lobstermen's Association filed an application on behalf of all Maine lobstermen.  Evidence was provided to support the claim that the value of Maine's lobster catch was negatively affected by foreign imports in 2009.
