Commission May Ask for Delay in Titan's Air Permit

"The North Carolina Marine Fisheries Commission will consider asking the state's Division of Air Quality to hold off on issuing Titan America's air permit because of concerns with water contamination. Members of the Fisheries Commission want Titan America's air permit to be delayed until the Army Corps of Engineers finishes its Environmental Impact Statement. Fisheries Commissioner B.J. Copeland is concerned with what he calls a loophole in the air permitting process. He says that loophole allows a permit to be issued without considering how air emissions settle into water."
